Ball Location

I made this during my residency with SAFFCA in South Africa, after watching these kids play in the Rasta neighborhood of Knysna. Poverty was there, impossible to ignore, but what hit me first was their motion, their joy, and those Bob Marley colors glowing through the area and the mural made for him. I wanted the painting to keep that living encounter raw, like a page torn from my travel sketchbook, with the resilience of the community still beating inside it.
