Black Label

I painted this at the Leisure Island Green Hole (Green Cove) picnic and braai area, where I met a group of girls spending the day on the beach. They were drinking local Black Label beer, eating KFC, laughing under the sun, and I wanted to keep that exact mix of ease, style, and sharp presence. It is less a posed portrait than a slice of South African life caught while it was still warm.
