About this work
In Gallion, I went back to the galleon, that ship linking Europe, the Americas, and the Philippines for centuries, because I still feel those currents inside the present. I set its silhouette against a reworked American 100-dollar bill and the face of Benjamin Franklin, as if money had become the new vessel now carrying power across the world. Human faces, some close to indigenous masks and some drawn from modern life, rise through the neon pinks and deep indigos so history never feels abstract or far away.
