La Traverse des Amoureux

I looked at this steep part of Marseille and did not want to paint it politely. I broke the exact image apart in color so the climb, the walls, and the force of the street could come through together. This painting also nods to my beginnings at 59 Rivoli in Paris, and if you look closely, my own studio is there at the end of the street with the green door.
