About this work
I painted Le Revers de la Médaille at Les Halles du Faubourg with my Brazilian friend Mauricio Masoli, inside the wider energy of a Taverne Gutenberg project. At the center, the hand of a Black man reaches toward choice, while childish polo players, Mexican-flavored symbols, and the raw movement of dance press against him from every side. We wanted the mural to show the split between power and play, surface and truth, the hidden reverse side of the medals people chase.
