Rodeo Fireworks

In Marseille, I kept seeing riders, sometimes gang members, strap fireworks to their motorbikes and launch into wheelies. The whole street turned into a flash of noise, sparks, and adrenaline. I attacked this one with the palette knife so the image would feel as brief and physical as the moment itself, close to the live energy I know from the dance-painting performances I do with Maïa.
