For Women’s Month, I wanted to look again at the Filipino peso and ask who we place at the center of value. In this work, a Filipina holds that space, surrounded by symbols of heritage and nationhood, not as decoration but as presence. The painting is my way of saying that the Filipino story has always been carried, shaped, and strengthened by women.
