Linya, art & dance

Linya, art & dance

‘Linya’ by Ugnayan was a multidisciplinary project that unfolded in March 2020. It was imagined as a performative exhibition by New York-based Filipina dancer and choreographer Elizabeth Roxas-Dobrish, French artist Henri Lamy, and French-Filipina art director Maïa d’Aboville. Linya became part of the Fringe Manila Festival 2020 as a shared space for movement, image, and encounter.

In this immersive forty-five minute piece, the audience was free to move through the space and come upon performances as they happened, sometimes all at once. Set and costume design, dance, painting, and music were not treated as separate disciplines, but as one living experience.

Linya is about the line that connects us all.
